Team & billing
Members, invitations, roles, seats and tiers, balance top-ups, and what happens if a metered balance runs out.
Inviting members
You add teammates to your account (not to be confused with your Teammates — the agents) through the team page. Invitations go out as a signed accept link by email; the person clicks through and joins your team once they accept.
Seats decide your tier
Your subscription tier is derived automatically from how many seats are on your team. One seat is Pro Solo; two or more seats is Pro Team. Adding a member can move you from Solo to Team automatically. See /pricing for what each tier includes and costs.
Who can manage billing
Billing pages are restricted to owners and admins. Other members see a locked view instead of the billing controls — they can see that billing exists, but not the balance, invoices, or payment method.
Trial and activation
New accounts start on a trial: full platform access, one agent server, no card required. Moving off trial requires activating a subscription, which needs a payment method on file. Your tier at activation is derived from your current seat count, the same rule that governs upgrades later.
Balance and top-ups
Metered teams run on an account balance that's debited for model usage. You can add funds two ways:
| Top-up type | Minimum | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Manual | $5 | Whole-dollar amounts only |
| Automatic | Threshold ≥ $1, amount ≥ $5 | Triggers a top-up once your balance drops below the threshold you set |
Warning: If your balance runs out, your Teammates stop replying until you add funds. This is a deliberate fail-closed behavior, not a bug — usage never runs unbilled.
Note: Enterprise plans that bring their own provider credentials aren't billed by the platform for model usage — you pay your provider directly, and the top-up system above doesn't apply to your model spend.
Canceling and resuming
You can cancel your subscription; it stays active through the end of the current billing period rather than ending immediately. If you change your mind before that period ends, you can resume without losing anything.
Billing email
The email address that receives invoices and billing notifications is editable independently of your account login email, from the billing page.
API and MCP
Billing email updates are available through the API and MCP tools as well as the dashboard. Team membership, invitations, and top-ups are currently dashboard-only. See API & MCP for the resource map.
